There is a new youthful saying, which admonishes someone contemplating a particular action to "Turn [it] up!" Once engaged and/or having fun, and it's time to stop the party, the participant may respond,"Turn [it] down for what?" ...I'm having a ball!
Turning down a"good" opportunity, which potentially blurs particular boundaries, or poses a distractive threat to an even greater assignment, can be challenging, especially when "greater" has not yet manifested. Besides, you're having a good time doing whatever it is you are already doing. Right?
Wrong. Every "good" opportunity or good idea is not necessarily a "God" opportunity. And yes, there are repercussions to both; as many may not understand your decision to walk away from a seemingly good thing, and your greater assignment will always demand your undivided attention and focus. After all, distractions can be detrimental to any forthcoming assignment. Nevertheless, know that God's grace, peace, favor, and promotion trumps it all in the very end.
What opportunity are you currently contemplating, that you really need to simply "turn down?" May God give you the boldness to walk away with gladness; turning it down, that He in return may turn YOU up! (1 Peter 5:6 AMP)
