Your 2nd Wind Consulting & Counseling

Second wind is a phenomenon in distance running, such as marathons or road running, whereby an athlete who is too out of breath and tired to continue suddenly finds the strength to press on at top performance with less
exertion.
YOUR SECOND WIND
helps you to find the strength to press on when you are "too out of breath and tired to continue" during and/or after loss and transition.
"Faith Comes by Hearing..." While at the Cleveland Clinic, I was a part of three major pilot research programs that measured the rapid healing response and recovery of cardiac and other chronically ill patients whose pain thresholds were extremely broader and higher than average persons. These patients suffered from elevated pain on a daily basis, even at the cost of opiate addiction from the cocktail of pain meds prescribed. Those who received pastoral counseling, especially those who opted for "prayer with touch" to the ailing body part, showed significant improvement. Post-surgical cardiac patients were extubated without complications and fared much better than those who had refused care. It was amazing. It was amazing to see the sustainability of desperate faith turned upwardly. Initially, some expressed sincere weariness from "believing." However, after contemplation, followed by a simple, but altogether, sincere "Yes," God intervened with a second wind and they are now the better for it (physically and/or spiritually/emotionally). So, how sustainable is your faith? You will never really know until you exercise it to the point of giving up; that point in your journey when your knees begin to buckle, your feet slip from beneath you, your body aches beyond articulation, and your spirit is overcome with weariness. This, my friend, is where you will meet the power of Your 2nd Wind, which is a true gift from God. As for your faith, well, "faith comes [only] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God... (Romans 10:17). So, keep hearing. And by all means, keep moving! Dr. Kay Jenkins (c) 2014 Your 2nd Wind Consulting & Counseling
